Welcome to the Chamber Mead Wetlands audio nature trail!
Listen to our commentary of what you can find around the 2000m2 Chamber Mead wetlands in Ewell, which have been created to divert urban pollution away from the River Hogsmill.
As a result of the wetland trapping silt and the plants absorbing pollutants, this precious chalk stream now has a fresh chance to become a haven for wildlife, enhancing the chances of the river becoming a space for brown trout, eels, native crayfish and water voles to thrive.
The trail was designed in conjunction with six schools who all had the opportunity to plant some of the 10,000 plants that were added to the wetlands during its construction. The schools were: Cuddington Community Primary, Ewell Castle School, River View CoE Primary, Daintry Primary, St Clements Catholic Primary and Ewell Grove Primary.
